Pavey Group staff make their mark

Pavey Group has long promoted the development of its staff, and 2014 has already brought great recognition for the Exeter and Torbay based Insurance and Financial Services firm.

Pavey Group are strong supporters of the local Insurance Institute and were incredibly proud to see Helen Jones, Senior Account Manager, representing the Exeter Institute as President for 2013/2014. The Chartered Insurance Institute is the world’s leading professional body for the Insurance and Financial Services Industry, and is committed to maintaining the highest standard of technical competence. The role as President involves Helen leading the Exeter Institute Council, arranging regulatory seminars and training courses, along with fundraising for Helens chosen Charity, Rainbow Living.

The Group has been a great supporter of the Paignton Secretarial College apprenticeship scheme; it was particularly pleasing that the Insurance Institute of Exeter recognised Lauren White as ‘Young professional of the Year 2013/2014’. Lauren joined Pavey Group as an Apprentice in 2010 and now holds a position as Commercial Account Handler, managing a portfolio of clients.

Julian Head, Team Leader and Senior Commercial Account Handler was also awarded his Advanced Diploma in Insurance, recognised as an equivalent to a degree. Julian has mentored a number of his colleagues who are working towards their insurance qualifications by leading weekly study groups.

For clients working with Pavey Group, their fully managed claims service has been invaluable to many, and is a clear differentiator for the independent insurance broker as many brokers outsource claims handling or do not employ dedicated claims professionals. Nick Sanders, Director at Pavey Group comments, “ I am delighted to see our claims service being recognised by the Insurance Times, and in particular Claims Manager, Jan Newman who came runner up in the’ Outstanding Broker Claims Individual of the Year’ category at the Claims Excellence award held in London, in May.
