The Co-operative food store in Uffculme, Cullompton, is set to re-open next week (Thursday, 2 October) following a near £200,000 investment to create a new shopping experience for the community.

The new-look store in The Square has been redefined with a new kiosk, an increased bakery range and, a focus on meal ideas, healthy, fresh and chilled foods and, essentials.

The store is also pioneering a new role, known as a Community Pioneer, with members of the food store team, Karen Clench and Rachael Margetts, also working to foster involvement in community activities.

Stephen Clegg, Manager of The Co-operative’s Uffculme food store, said: “We are delighted to have made such a significant investment in Uffculme, and are very excited to be soon welcoming customers old and new into their new-look store which, I am confident will provide the community with everything needed to pick-up delicious food conveniently and, create inspirational and tasty meals at home.”

There are offers and promotions in and around the store to mark its re-opening, and local community groups and charities can talk to the food store team to find out more about how they could benefit from The Co-operative’s Community Fund.
