School holidays may be looming, but that doesn’t mean the learning stops. To help kids stay active throughout the summer, DanSci Dance Studio in Exeter will host a series of interactive dance programmes for kids aged from 18 months to 12 years

“We are very excited for Summer of Dance to begin” says Artistic Director of DanSci Dance Studio, Ava Barron Thomas “First up on the schedule is our raved about annual mixed styles dance Camp.”

Ava says “the dance camp is filled with different dance styles, music, stage craft and fun. Designed for 5-12 year old’s, camp will allow them to explore their natural love of movement and music, while making new friends and finding a style that really suits them.”

“It won’t just be about fun, it will also be a nurturing, learning environment that will incorporate educational tools and technology as well.” says Ava. “We do limit the size of the classes, which allows us to have more one-on-one time with the dancers. It’s a great way to get new students into dance and showcase what we can offer the community”.

DanSci Dance Studio are excited to have alumni, current instructors and guest artists from across the country bring their expertise to the sessions.

DanSci Dance Studio Faculty Director; Harley Burrell will be hosting a couple of intensive Acrobatic Arts sessions in July and August. Harley qualified as an Acrobatics Arts©️ Level 2 instructor with an impressive 100% pass rate.  She is the only registered teacher at this level of the demanding syllabus in Exeter. Harley is really excited to work with current students improving their skills and meeting new prospective students who are taking their first steps in this challenging dance style.

For the tiniest dancers aged 18 months (with parents) to 5 years DanSci will be holding award winning babyballet©️ party classes. 3 Themed hour long sessions will run through August. Exploring imagination and story telling as much as getting active and learning some dance moves. “These sessions are great to enjoy with your child as they take their first magical steps in dance” says Ava.

The Summer rounds off with a 3 day Intensive for all Disney lovers! Focussed on Musical Theatre, Primary School aged children will learn a selection of songs and dances from the most loved Disney films of all time.
