Graduating can be a scary business, leaving university with a mountain of debt and joining the 9 to 5 grind is something not many students look forward to. But if you find the right job earning a proper salary and becoming an adult, functioning member of society after university can be the best time of your life. So here is how you find your perfect career?

Did you enjoy your taking your degree? Not the partying but the lectures, seminars and coursework? If you loved your degree and still find the subject interesting after 3 years of study than it is a safe bet that you would want to do something in that field, maybe even continuing to study or teaching in one of the other jobs in education.

#2 Play to Your Strengths

What sort of person are you? If you are a sociable, chatty type of person maybe a sales or marketing based role would be a good option. Or perhaps you are a creative, artistic person, well why not take a look at web designer jobs. Remember pretty much any industry will need people like this so if you don’t have a job in mind choose a general role in an industry that interests you.

In fact the average starting salary for a graduate in the UK is rarely above £25k and more often lower.

But your first job, while important, does not define you. For most people getting any job in an office is likely to help you start your career, even if your first job is not in an industry you want to be a part of. There is no sense holding on for your dream job, get something a little related to what you want to do and see how it goes it might lead to something good and if not you can continue applying for other vacancies.
