On October 14 Rusty Pig is taking over Exeter’s Exploding Bakery for one night only, with a special pop up feasting house.

‘Ethical chef’ Robin Rea is taking his food wagon complete with mobile wood fired oven to the bakery and café located right beside Exeter Central Station, where he’ll be serving up the Rusty Pig’s unique take on funky flat bread pizza.

The idea arose after Robin met Exploding Bakery owners Tom Oxford and Oliver Coysh at the Magdalen Road Christmas Fair last year, where he was selling his mobile fare. The pair came to eat at Rusty Pig restaurant in Ottery St Mary; one thing led to another and a plan was quickly hatched for a Pig pop up.

As the Exploding Bakery has just expanded into an adjoining unit, there will be plenty of space to eat in. If it’s a fine evening outdoor seating is available.

The pop up will be serving from 4pm to midnight, and comes complete with an alcohol licence. Customers are welcome to just stop by for a social drink.
