On Sunday 15 March children are invited to make a natural present for mum at ‘Making Mothers’ Day special’ at the Younghayes Centre in Cranbrook, EX5 7DR.

This free event is suitable for all ages and there is no need to book. Accompanied children may drop in between 10am and 12.30pm to create a unique gift of wooden jewellery or stained glass windows with pressed flowers.

The team always aims to encourage an interest in nature from an early age, and our ‘Little ones’ walks’ use outside games and activities to introduce children under the age of seven years to our green spaces in East Devon. Donations for these walks are welcome, and will help the team to continue to run a lively programme of events.

Three Little Ones’ walks are planned for March as follows, all walks start at 10am:

• Wednesday 18  March - Knapp Community Nature Reserve, Sidmouth.

• Thursday 19  March - Seaton Marshes Local Nature Reserve.

• Thursday 24  March - Honiton Bottom Community Nature Reserve.

• Friday 20 March between 6pm – 8pm - explore the sights and sounds of the woodland after dark at our ranger-led night walk at Holyford woods near Colyford. The suggested donation for this event is £3.

Please note that booking is essential for both the Little Ones’ walk and the Night walk  – call 01395 517557 or email Countryside@eastdevon.gov.uk
