Killerton’s annual classic car day has reached its ten year mile stone and, to celebrate, the event will be extended to a two-day festival.

On Sunday and Monday (25 and 26 May) from 10.30am-5pm there will be hundreds of vehicles on display in the historic parkland at Killerton.

A significant occasion in the classic car world, which has grown every year with increasing popularity, this year’s event is set to be the biggest yet with a display of over 250 elegant vehicles. Killerton are keen to celebrate the landmark anniversary with a live jazz band, family games, drinks, food and craft stalls, all adding to the festive atmosphere across the two-day May bank holiday.

Local classic car groups have the opportunity to display their vintage motors in all their glory and include the Standard Car Club, Ford Anglia Car Club, Devon Vintage Car Club, Torquay Old Wheels Car Club, MX5 Car Club to name but a few. Rare and unusual cars such as the Aston Martin Lagonda, 1967 Ford Mustang, 1948 Riley, Alvis Firebird, Austin Gipsy, Morgans, Rolls Royce and Daimlers will be on show. Exhibitors will all be competing to beat last year’s winner for the renowned ‘Killerton House Cup’.

Organiser, Christina le Fley said: “The first year we did this we only had a few cars turn up; now, ten years later, I couldn’t be more pleased that the event has not only proven popular but is considered an important event for clubs to meet one another and show off their prized classic vehicles. This anniversary is a great achievement and we hope it’s even better than ever as all proceeds will fund essential conservation work here at Killerton.”
