Foundation contribute to new WESC van

Celebrity Chef Michael Caines and other trustees of the Exeter Foundation have proudly handed over the keys to a new van to WESC Foundation – the Specialist Centre for Visual Impairment located on Topsham road in Exeter but covering the West of England.

The van, which the Exeter Foundation have helped fund, has been specially adapted for those with visual impairment and complex needs and can be used to transport students individually.

“Just like any school or college there is always a need to arrange transport for students for a variety of reasons and it’s wonderful to have the flexibility of a smaller vehicle as well as our mini-bus and we are very grateful to the Exeter Foundation for all their brilliant support” said Jon Duckham, Fundraising Manager for WESC Foundation

Set up in 2010 by some of Exeter’s top names in business and sport, the Foundation not only helps to raise vital funds for worthwhile local charities, it also supports key projects across the region with money raised not only at Chiefs’ match-days, but at various fundraising events each year.

Speaking about the Exeter Foundation’s contribution, trustee Michael Caines said: “The Exeter Foundation is always delighted to support the WESC Foundation and the fantastic work they do across the West of England. We hope that this van will make a positive difference to WESC students and staff, making transportation of individuals much easier.”
