Double Olympic Champion James Cracknell and Run Joy Ltd have announced that Exeter’s Great West Run 2017 will be held on Sunday 15th October.

Early bird entries will open on Friday, 17th March from 10am at www.thegreatwestrun.co.uk.

An October date means that you can train during the best of the British weather, then race in the Indian summers we're becoming used to. Having taken over the running of Exeter’s Great West Run in 2016 and investing and improving in key areas, consulting key event stakeholders and taking onboard expert local knowledge, we are determined to deliver an event that works for the city, the residents, charities, supporters/spectators and the participants.

Over 2500 runners took part in the 2016 event, with many more thousands of local residents lining the streets to cheer and support the runners. The half marathon is a popular autumn event for runners across the South West and beyond.

Runners will be treated to all that the city of Exeter has to offer – and this year will see a change of route, with the start and finish moving back to the Exeter Arena Athletics Stadium. The events team are working hard to confirm the final route but rest assured it will show off the best of Exeter...
