Cartridges Law are sponsoring the Exeter Half Marathon 2016 organised by Exeter City FC's Football in the Community, the run is a great three lap traffic free, pancake flat, half marathon run on the footpaths and cycle tracks around the River Exe and Exeter Canal.

It covers a distance of 13.1 miles and is suitable for people chasing PB's along with novice runners.

Exeter City FC Football in the Community works in collaborative partnerships to deliver inspiring physical activity, health and wellbeing and educational services for people of all ages across Devon. Last year the we engaged over 40,000 children and young people within its services. Their strategy includes four areas of development, these are Sports Participation, Education, Social Inclusion, and Health.

Penny Scott of Cartridges Law “Being at the heart of the local community is the core of our work at Cartridges Law so we are delighted to sponsor an event by Exeter City FC who also take such a great pride in their successful community focus. Our staff are keen on promoting fitness and fun so we are looking forward to the event and hope there will be huge crowds cheering on the runners.

We even have our own in-house trainer, James Durston, Cartridges Law’s housing caseworker, qualified Leader in Running Fitness, and veteran of nearly 30 half marathons who said about the event:

“It’s great that our firm is sponsoring this local half marathon where we welcome both novice and experienced runners of all abilities, from those who just want to complete a 13 mile race to elite runners out to win outright or in their age category.  Several of our staff have been putting in the miles to train for the event in often cold and wet weather, on flooded or icy roads.  They are looking forward to a nice flat run along the canal and chasing their personal bests!  I can’t wait to join them on the start line!”

Penny continued “At Cartridges Law we have a high number of runners who have entered various events over the years from relatively simple 5k runs to the more exhausting Great West Run, raising money and having fun along the way. Whether at work or when we’re getting fit we’re always up for a challenge and think it’s great that we are supporting such a good event. If you can’t take part we would love to see you lining the streets to cheer us on!”

Jamie Vittles, Head of Community at Exeter City Football Club says “Following the success of the 2015 Exeter half marathon, we are proud to be delivering the event again this year. The run is open to all abilities across the two days and has a great community feel to it, which fits nicely with the aims and objectives of our charity – its also a fantastic, scenic and flat route”.
