Turtle Bay opens tomorrow at Queen St. Dining

Caribbean cuisine is coming to Exeter, as the first restaurant in Exeter’s Queen St. Dining opens tomorrow (Tuesday 23 August).

Queen St. is Turtle Bay’s first restaurant in the Devon region and the 215 seat premises is set to create the perfect atmosphere for enjoying bold spicy food and drink. The restaurant’s state of the art design features an ‘island hut’ bar, a special veranda dining area and an open ‘street kitchen’.

Sami Al-Huwaidi, General Manager for Exeter’s Turtle Bay, said: “We are delighted to announce that we will be opening our first Devon restaurant on 23 August. I hope people are looking forward to experiencing a taste of the Caribbean right in the heart of Exeter. With over 50 authentic Caribbean dishes and more than 40 rums on the menu, we are sure that foodies from across Devon are going to love what we have to offer.”

Queen St. Dining will feature an eclectic mix of exciting brands, the majority of which are new to the South West. In addition to Turtle Bay, the line-up features: Absurd Bird, Comptoir Libanais, Gourmet Burger Kitchen (GBK), KuPP, The Stable and The Terrace.

The £12m dining destination will also introduce welcoming open air spaces designed especially for food events, markets and entertainment.

Andrew McNeilly, Manager of Guildhall Shopping & Dining, said: “It gives me great pleasure to announce that the first restaurant at Queen St. Dining, Turtle Bay, will open tomorrow. After months of anticipation, following an extensive programme of construction works and shop fitting, the wait is finally over as Exeter residents get the chance to sample one of the destination’s exciting new brands.”

Andrew continues: “Passers-by will have noticed the neon lights and colourful interior of the restaurant, as they wander up Queen Street. Now, diners can expect to revel in the delights of the Caribbean, right in the heart of Exeter. We now look forward to revealing further opening dates of our other restaurants in the coming weeks.”

Exeter’s food culture is growing in popularity, gaining regional and national recognition for its choice of unique food producers and well-known chefs and
eateries. Queen St. Dining will add to this by creating a vibrant culture in a heritage city location where there will be something for everyone.

Following Turtle Bay’s opening, the remaining restaurants will continue to open throughout August and September.
