The nominations for the 2016 Devon Venus Awards are now open and Sampson Hall are proud to be sponsoring Company of the Year, a category for 50 + employees.

The annual awards support and acknowledge the achievements of Women in Business and they make a powerful difference for those very special women who you believe should be recognised and rewarded.

Nominations are now open until the 12th July and can be submitted online at www.venusawards.co.uk/devon  You can nominate someone for an award or you can nominate yourself for up to 5 different categories.

The benefits of winning an award are immense and the value to you and your organisation should not be underestimated.

When you nominate someone, you may be unaware of the significant journey that begins for yourself or others.  The Venus experience recognises and rewards contribution and takes women through a process where they can meet new professional contacts and friends, increase their business, and share stories and experiences.

We are asking all Devon Businesses to think seriously about eligible candidates for our Company of the Year category, so please do pass on this information to anyone you know who may be interested. To be eligible the company must employ 50 or more people and the nominee is a representative of a company that supports women in their business. The nominee can be a male of a female for this category.

Our decision to sponsor again this year was most definitely the right one as the 2016 launch event had the highest number of attendees ever since Venus began! This is proof to us that supporting and celebrating the achievements of Women in Business, is the right thing to do. More than 160 women in business attended this year’s record-breaking Venus Awards launch at Plymouth Science Park this week.

We are thrilled to be sponsoring Company of the Year in 2016 and we look forward to meeting with business owners who are forward thinking in their approach to encouraging women to reach and work in jobs and positions at the highest level in business.

The Awards celebrate the vital contribution that women in business make to the regional and national economy. In Devon this year, nominees and applicants will be competing in up to 14 categories, including two that are voted for by the general public.

The Venus journey will culminate in a glamorous Ceremony and Gala Dinner at The Great Hall, University of Exeter on Friday 18th November 2016.
