Grimethorpe Colliery Band are delighted to be hosting a ground-breaking joint concert with RSVP Bhangra and the Soprano Belinda Evans at the Exeter Corn Exchange.

This promises to be a very special event as the very best of British Brass share the stage with the awe-inspiring RSVP Bhangra Band. Add in one of the country’s leading soprano’s and you’ve got an event that will be a truly unique one-off experience.

The show will feature collaborations between all three groups and include two live World Premieres. ‘Enchanted Light’ by Liz lane will feature Belinda and Grimethorpe. The concert will culminate with a finale which will feature all three artists performing Liz Lane’s ‘Surtaal Celebrates’.

Belinda Evans enjoys a varied career in opera and on the concert platform and has recently appeared as a soloist at The Cadogan, Colston and Birmingham Symphony Halls.  Belinda recently completed a four-year contract with Andréé Rieu and his Johann Strauss orchestra, touring worldwide. Her voice, and its versatility, has led her from singing the National Anthem at both The Rugby World Cup in Australia and the Vitality Netball Series, to film & TV appearances, to contracts in London’s West End.

RSVP Bhangra present a high-energy, interactive, and fun Bhangra music experience that really rocks the crowd and keeps them dancing all night.  From legendary UK festivals such as Glastonbury, WOMAD and The Secret Garden Party (to name but a few) to Feest in 't Park over in Belgium, Pennabilli down in Italy and Kulturekosmos in Germany, RSVP has rocked them all, leaving delighted audiences everywhere screaming for more...”

Grimethorpe Colliery Band’s diverse noted concert performances include those at the FIFA World Cup, BAFTA Awards, BBC Proms, Eurovision, and London 2012 Olympic Games Opening Ceremony, together with a wealth of national and international television / radio appearances and professional recordings. The band has been the recipient of two gold discs, as well as a BAFTA nomination for its contributions to the global hit movie “Brassed Off” for which Grimethorpe was the focal point.

The Royal Albert Hall, Symphony Hall, Barbican, Westminster Abbey, European Parliament, Sydney Opera House, and Carnegie Hall New York, have all played host to Grimethorpe. With tours to Australia, Hong Kong, Japan, New Zealand, The US and concerts & festival appearances throughout Europe, the band’s performance reputation remains unsurpassed.
