Exeter school closed after suspicious package found

Police have been informed of a suspicious package in York Road near St Sidwell Street, Exeter at a 6.55am this morning. Police are now in attendance.

The package was located on the Well Street / York Street junction.

St Sidwells School has been evacuated and closed as a precaution. The school  has plans in place for this type of event.

Road closures at York Road at both the Sidwell Street and Longbrook Street entrances.

The school's website said: School is CLOSED today (Monday) due to unforseen circumstances--we hope to be open tomorrow

People are asked to avoid the area.
