Air quality specialist extends SLR’s Exeter office offering

Environmental firm, SLR Consulting, has welcomed air quality specialist, Morgan Fitzpatrick to its Exeter base in Polsloe Road.

Morgan, who was previously based in the firm’s Bradford on Avon office, is an Associate with 12 years’ experience of undertaking air quality and odour assessments. A Devon business has come to the aid of a local wildlife charity with a donation of white goods.

Sparkworld, based at Heathfield Industrial Estate, Newton Abbot, delivered a heap of domestic appliances to Paignton Zoo, which is a registered charity. The gift included fridges, freezers, microwave ovens and kettles.

Paignton Zoo’s Jenny Paton said: “These items will help hard-working animal staff and the people who support them, like our in-house vet team and our volunteers. We are extremely grateful to Sparkworld for supporting us in this way.”

Everys Solicitors in Exmouth put their best feet forward when they sponsored and took part in the town’s Ladies’ Starlight Walk to help raise money for Hospiscare.

Having supported and taken part in the event last year, Everys committed to this year’s event as an associate sponsor and to sponsor a number of the participants’ prize categories.

Appointments bring Michelmores partnership to 61

Michelmores LLP has appointed two new Partners and four new Associates at its Exeter and Bristol offices bringing the number of Partners to 61 and the number of Associates to 21. A new Financial Controller has also been appointed.

An Exeter-based agency of British Sign Language interpreters has been awarded the contract by Devon County Council to be its preferred supplier of interpreters.

According to recent research the Deaf community is suffering as a result of lack of access to BSL interpreters, with many suffering health issues due to reasons such as a lack of information, poor communication, and unnecessary difficulties in getting to the doctor in the first place. EDDC looks for canteen operator

East Devon District Council is looking for an individual or company to operate the on-site canteen concession at its current Head Office at Knowle in Sidmouth, which is the base for over 300 staff.

The council is seeking expressions of interest in providing a daily on-site service, but it would also consider other options.

The new operator would be expected to supply a selection of breakfast items, light meals, and snacks, together with a range of hot and cold non-alcoholic drinks, reflecting the overall health and wellbeing policy of the Council.
