The Music in Devon Initiative (MIDI) are announcing the first wave of live bands across two stages for the 2024 Poltimore Music & Arts Festival on Friday 22nd March and that tickets are now on sale: https://www.fatsoma.com/e/yay1hd0p/poltimore-festival-2024

This weekend cycle Fest comes to Seaton on Saturday 30th June and Sunday 1st July.

Riders dressed in vintage attire will enjoy a leisurely ride along the Jurassic Coast on Saturday 30th June with live music and family entertainment in Cliff Field Gardens throughout the afternoon.

On Sunday 1st July the faster criterium and Primary School cycle races will take place along the Seaton seafront. Paintings, ceramics, sculpture and glass will be exhibited in Torquay this August.

From August 25 to 31 fingerpaintings by Saskia Skoric will hang alongside nautical paintings by Len Murrell and landscapes and seascapes by Lynda Kettle, former vice president of the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists (RBSA) and chair of Sidmouth Art Society. Peter Randall-Page exhibits at Castle Drogo

This summer, Castle Drogo is exhibiting a collection of prints, drawings and sculptures by Royal Academician Peter Randall-Page.

The prints and drawings focus on observations of the natural world and include delicate linocuts of botanical and animal subjects. Recent prints such as Honeysuckle, Fig Tree, Spiders and Frogs are shown alongside Peter’s early studies of exquisite seed pods. One of the highlights of the exhibition is Randall-Page’s 7m wide ‘Rorschach Screen’ with its mirror image panels of drawings that reference the bi-lateral symmetry of Rorschach ink blots. Dartmoor artist Shirley Kirkcaldy is celebrating after her work has been selected to be represented by a new Devon gallery.

The Tidal Gallery, which opens at Victoria Place, The Promenade, Kingsbridge, on July 22 will be exhibiting eight of Shirley’s latest landscapes and seascapes.

Following a recent boating accident in Teignmouth, resulting in local man Mark Prowse losing a leg.

There is to be a Benefit gig to be held at THE COVE Pub in Teignmouth on July 8th to raise funds for him..

East Devon District Council has launched a competition to find the best photographs of the East Devon Countryside for the Wild East Devon 2019 calendar.

The competition opens on Sunday 1 July 2018 and entries can be sent until Friday 31 August.

All photographs must be taken in East Devon and can be of views, wildlife, wildflowers or trees.
