Calling all budding Spielbergs, aspiring Coppolas, visionary Spike Lees and passionate storytellers in and across the South West!

The Schools 48 Hour Film Challenge UK is back, calling on schools in the region to get involved and compete nationally.

Now in its fourth year and set to be held from Friday 10th May, the challenge brings together students aged 7-18 years to unleash their creativity and filmmaking skills in a thrilling 48-hour challenge.

Exeter College Flying High in NICDEX 2019 Rankings

Exeter College has once again been ranked as one of the top colleges in the country in FE Week’s annual NICDEX rankings. This latest ranking means that Exeter College has never left the top five since the ranking’s inception four years ago. The Ofsted Outstanding college has topped the billing twice, come fifth once and this year’s fourth place ranking means they have been the highest ranked college across the four years since the NICDEX was created.

Schools contribute to Devon Carbon Plan at Youth Climate Forum

Climate experts and over 100 Devon students put their heads together on Friday to propose, debate and determine how best to reduce carbon emissions in the county.

It was all part of The Devon Youth Climate Forum held at County Hall and hosted by the Devon Youth Parliament.

The Forum was one of a series of opportunities that Devon’s young people will have to contribute to the Devon Carbon Plan, a blueprint which will lay out what we all must do to create a net-zero county.

12 Primary Schools Participate in First Event of the Sports Partnership Calendar

Following the World Cup, rugby was still very much on the QE Sports Partnership agenda with twelve primary schools participating in a mammoth three-hour session of Tag Rugby recently.

With 32 teams battling it out, QE’s 31 Year 9 Sports Leaders were kept very much on their toes, refereeing a total of 80 matches and awarding 300 tries.

Exeter College hosted the road safety team Learn2Live to talk with students on the dangers of the road and how the impact of a wrong decision can last a lifetime.

The sessions run by the Learn2Live organisation provided genuine accounts of those who have been affected by road safety collisions, including police officers, bereaved parents and other emergency service professionals.
