'The Spinners Legends' - Still Spinning

During the 60's & 70's the sensational Spinners took the TV screens and music world by storm and introduced many of us to the folk scene with a combination of traditional folk music, many well known songs by Ewan MacColl, sea shanties, Christmas songs and those which simply made us laugh.

Mick Groves and Hughie Jones, 'the last two Spinners standing' who are both now in their 80's, will be meeting up for a one off concert at Countess Wear Village Hall in Exeter on June 15th.

The last time the they played in Exeter the show was a sell out, the music and great and the camaraderie between these veteran performers was heartwarming, don't miss it, they are 'still spinning' but it may be the last time they play together in the city.

They will be joined by an acclaimed banjo player from the US Bob Conroy before performing at The Falmouth Shanty Festival to help raise funds for the RNLI June 16th-18th.

Tickets £10 are available from The Tally Ho, Countess Wear Road Exeter or by post: Spinners Legend, 1 Whitlow Copse, Exeter EX2 5NB. Cheques payable to Exegroves incl: SAE please  www.mickgroves.co.uk  07779 255228
