On Saturday 6 May Dartmoor National Park Authority will play host to a day of lectures to shed light on important wildlife research being carried out in Dartmoor’s woodlands.

The day will provide an opportunity to discover more about the wildlife of our woodlands with short lectures presented by the scientists and conservationists working within the Bovey Valley Woods, East Dartmoor National Nature Reserve, and across Dartmoor. This is a wonderful opportunity to hear about the variety of research being undertaken locally, and the important contribution that this is making to conservation science.

East Dartmoor National Nature Reserve is at the centre of this scientific research to learn more about woodland wildlife. The Reserve was the first National Nature Reserve to be set up in England in 1952 and celebrates 65 years this May. It was set up to conserve important habitat, and to be used for scientific and educational purposes. The reserve and the Bovey Valley Woods are managed by Natural England and the Woodland Trust.

The lectures are part of the Moor than meets the eye Woodland Festival which will run throughout May.

This event is FREE and includes a buffet lunch and refreshments. Booking is essential.
