National charity Family Action has been funded by the Department for Education to support selected schools in England to develop childcare and holiday provision on the school site. This includes, for instance, breakfast, after-school and holiday clubs. Now, the Childcare in Schools Team would like to share their learning with other schools in the country and we are holding a free open training event in your area in December.

Childcare in Schools – free training workshop

• What? This session will look at the barriers that schools typically face when setting up school-based childcare and holiday provision and what practical measures can be taken to dismantle these.

• Who? All those interested in developing breakfast, after-school and holiday provision on a school site are welcome to attend (primary, secondary, special school staff/headteachers; extended services staff; governors; childcare workers (eg breakfast club staff); local authority workers; children’s centre managers etc).

• When? 3 December 2014 (1-3pm), Exeter

• Cost? Free, including light refreshments
