Successful year of sport for Exeter School

As the end of term draws near, Exeter School is celebrating an academic year of sporting success.

It was an exciting season of great hockey, during which the boys' hockey teams were crowned U13, U16 and U18 Devon Champions and U14 runners up and the girls' hockey teams were named U16 and U18 Devon Champions and U14 Devon runners up.

The Spring term began with both U18 boys' and girls' hockey teams taking part in the National Indoor Hockey Finals.

Teams of young footballers from Exeter and a visiting team from Plymouth took part in a mini soccer festival last weekend, hosted by Devon Football Association.

The nine teams across two age groups fought hard for the top spot, with U9 winners Central beating West Exe in their final, and U10 winners SB Frankfort from Plymouth beating City Raiders.

South West Athletics Academy has been working with the Exeter based Corkscrew programme which brings students from all over Europe to learn entrepreneurial skills.

Race lanes drawn for City of Exeter Rowing Regatta

Entries have now been submitted and race lanes drawn for this years City of Exeter Regatta at Exeter Quay on Saturday 11 July.

Once again this will be a full day of racing with over 100 sprint races on the day from 10.30am to 6pm. Racing takes place over a 400 metre course on the River Exe.

This provides close, exciting racing all day with eights, coxed fours, pairs, singles and double sculls.

A tag rugby FEZtival is taking place in Exeter on Saturday 25 July.

Mixed veteran teams from Exeter Chiefs, Plymouth Albion, Exeter Saracens will be taking part - from club players to full blown internationals.

The event is being held at Exeter Saracens Rugby Club, Exhibition Fields, Summer Lane and is raising funds for FORCE Cancer Charity.

Gates open at 12.30pm and entry is free.
