Exeter cancer charity FORCE is offering the chance for one lucky runner to take part in next year’s Virgin Money London Marathon.

For the first time, FORCE has been awarded a golden bond space for the race on Sunday April 26.

Under the scheme, charities buy guaranteed entries which they offer to anyone who missed out on a ballot place. Runners then commit to raise a four figure sum for their cause.

“Obviously we want to maximise this fantastic opportunity, so we are looking for a keen runner to represent FORCE on the day. He or she will also need to be an enthusiastic fundraiser as we are asking for a pledge to raise a minimum of £2,000 (excluding Gift Aid) for FORCE Cancer Charity,” said fundraiser Naomi Cole.

The Virgin Money London Marathon is one of the world’s most iconic races with 36,000 people taking part each year.
More than three quarters of competitors now run for a good cause and a third of all entry places are offered by charitable organisations like FORCE.
Since the first London Marathon in 1981, runners in the race have raised more than £600 million for charity, making it the largest annual one-day fundraising event in the world.
