Congratulations to Exeter School Kate Marks for her selection on the RFU National Youth Council (NYC).

Through her role as a Young Ambassador for the 2015 Rugby World Cup and Captain of the Cornwall County Squad, the Upper Sixth Former has been selected as one of 12 young people from across the country to serve on NYC.

The NYC is a group of 16 - 24 year olds from across the country, involved in all aspects of the game, working directly with the wider Rugby Football Union and England Rugby to help the growth and development of youth rugby across the country.

Kate has been playing rugby for about 5 years and said she enjoyed it as a team sport where you have to trust your team mates completely.

"It provides a community that anyone of any size or strength can contribute to making it very welcoming," she said.

"I am really looking forward to being part of the decision making process for the future of grassroots rugby across the country especially with the 2015 Rugby World Cup in England next year making it an exciting time to be involved."
