Devon becomes a bowls hot spot

The Bowls Development Alliance (BDA) have announced that Active Devon, Devon's innovative County Sports Partnership have been successful in become a hotspot for bowls in the country.

They were one of just eight County Sports Partnerships to be awarded money from the BDA nationally.

Active Devon will spend the next two months identifying the best locations in which to focus opportunities with the most dynamic partners in the county in order for the hot spot funding to generate the maximum impact.

The main work begins in January 2016 and runs for an initial 12 month period.

During this time affiliated clubs within Devon hot areas spot will be able to enjoy financial and non-financial support benefits.

Other national recipients of BDA hotspot funding were:

•           Lincolnshire Sport
•           Sport Partnership Herefordshire & Worcestershire
•           Kent Sport
•           Sport Nottinghamshire
•           Sport Across Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent
•           Wiltshire and Swindon Sport
