Thieves target Exeter building sites

Police in Exeter are appealing for information following burglaries at three separate building sites.

Since Friday 28th August three building sites have been targeted with power tools being the main focus for thieves.

Sometime over the bank holiday weekend between Friday 28th August and Tuesday 1st September, the Barrett & David Wilson building site on Hill Barton Road, Exeter was targeted and items stolen from insecure plots.

Amongst the property stolen were guttering, piping and plumbing equipment.

The offender(s) also stripped and stole copper from items on the site.

Sometime overnight, on Wednesday 2nd September and Thursday 3rd September offender(s) targeted the Lindon Homes building site located on Tithebarn Lane, in Pinhoe.

Having climbed the perimeter fence a container was forced open and power tools including a disc cutter were stolen with a total value of £2,450.

Overnight on Thursday 3rd September and Friday 4th September, offender(s) entered the Greenacre Persimmon building site on Topsham Road, in Exeter by cutting the perimeter fence. Once inside four separate containers were entered by cutting secure chains and locks.

Power tools valued at £1,200 were stolen.

Police are appealing for any witnesses or to anyone who is offered the opportunity to purchase any cut price power tools.
