Hot, hot, hot and there's more to come!

Newton Poppleford is going to be as hot as Porto this week as temperatures continue to soar.

The Met Office is forecasting dry and warm weather right through until next week.

If you're planning a barbeque this is the weekend for it with Saturday expected to be around 26C and Sunday 24C.

Experts are predicting that the thermoeter could hit 28C in Devon today.

The five day forecast courtesy of the Met Office is as follows:

Today:

Any patchy cloud and hill fog will soon clear to leave another mostly fine day and it will become very warm or locally hot. Isolated heavy and thundery showers are likely to move westwards later in the afternoon. Maximum Temperature 28C.

Tonight:

Any isolated heavy and thundery showers largely clearing during the evening, but further showers possible in far southwest later. Otherwise dry and fine with clear periods, especially in the east. Minimum Temperature 14C.

Thursday:

Showers in far southwest will clear in the morning. Elsewhere, it will start dry and fine. Through the afternoon, isolated heavy and thundery showers are likely to develop. Hot again. Maximum Temperature 28C.

Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

Through into the weekend there will continue to be plenty of dry and fine weather. Isolated daytime showers may develop, which could be locally heavy. Warm or very warm.
