Explore East Devon with Countryside's Education Rangers over half term

The Countryside team is offering a fun-filled programme of events for children and their families this half term - from splashing in the stream at Honiton Bottom, or digging for worms in Exmouth.

The events aim to inspire children and adults to get out and explore their natural environment through fun games and activities.

All of the events listed cost just £4 per child with a discount offered to East Devon District Council tenants. Places must be booked in advance.

  • Bear hunt, Wednesday 1 June, 10am to 1pm, under sevens (older siblings welcome) are invited to join the Education Rangers at The Knapp Community Nature Reserve, Station Road, Sidmouth, for a Bear Hunt, playing games to find the bears hiding in The Knapp. Bring a picnic and stay for lunch in the meadow.
  • Fun in the stream, Thursday 2 June, 10am to 12noon, children of all ages are invited to Honiton Bottom Community Nature Reserve for a morning of fun in the stream - try stream-dipping and mini-raft/dam building.
  • Mud walk, Friday 3 June, 10am to 12 noon, all ages are invited to join the Education Rangers on Exmouth Beach, Imperial Recreation Ground in Imperial Road, Exmouth (opposite the toilets) for a muddy walk in Exmouth.
