GO2, organisers of Exeter’s Great West Run, sponsored by Tozers, are pleased to announce that entries to Exeter’s 31st Great West Run are now open!

Taking place on Sunday 18th October 2015, the event attracted over 2,500 pre-registrations, which is almost as many as those that took on the challenge in 2014! With an increasing level of interest in the popular half marathon, Exeter is proving to be a real favoured destination for runners in the South West.

Jamie Warren, Head of Marketing and Commercial at GO2, said: “Exeter’s Great West Run has grown substantially year on year, and with an eager number of runners pre-registered, we are expecting more participants than ever to take advantage of our early bird offer, and take to the streets of Exeter this autumn!

“As one of the longest standing half marathons in the UK, we are pleased to see Exeter’s Great West Run continue to gather momentum and retain its historic legacy. The course promises all the energy of a city centre road race, combined with pretty country lanes and stunning views across Exeter. With six months to go until race day, now is the perfect time to join in and set yourself the challenge of Exeter’s Great West Run!”

This year’s event will once again see the race village located in Belmont Park, with runners taking to the central city start line on Sidwell Street. The half marathon route follows one single lap through the heart of Exeter, before heading on to sections of the University, as well as the beautiful country lanes of St Andrews Road and Stoke Woods.

Jill Headford, Partner at Tozers Solicitors LLP, said: “Tozers Solicitors LLP is delighted to once again sponsor Exeter’s Great West Run. It is a real community event in which runners of all abilities can take part. Tozers would like to wish lots of luck to the runners tackling this half marathon and hopes everyone achieves their individual goals, targets and PBs, as well as raising lots of money for charity!”

Emma Perry, Community Fundraiser for local charity partner Children’s Hospice South West, said: “We are so delighted to be one of Exeter’s Great West Run’s official charity partners. This is such an iconic event for Devon and we look forward to sharing in this great day and supporting all the runners who are taking part, especially those that choose to run in support of Children’s Hospice South West! For our charity this is an amazing opportunity to raise awareness of the care we provide for life-limited children and their families across the South West, as well as help to raise money to support our service.”
