Local healthcare and protection insurance provider The Exeter has marked two years of fundraising for their Charity of the Year, Rainbow Living, with the presentation of a cheque for an outstanding £16,396.

Over the two years in which Rainbow Living has been their Charity of the Year, The Exeter organised a variety of fundraising events, including a 15-mile sponsored walk and 72-mile sponsored cycle, dress down days, raffles and cake sales, whilst employee Adrian Thorley ran the London Marathon for the local charity in April.

In addition to the fundraising events, The Exeter also separately donated £2,000 towards the purchase of a specialist bath for the Exeter Rainbow House.

All of the money raised has gone towards the charity’s third Rainbow House, which is currently being refurbished to make it suitable for the intended new tenants.

The Exeter’s CEO Andy Chapman and Becky Penrose, Chair of the Community & Charity Team Committee, presented the cheque to Ruth Airdrie from Rainbow Living, who said:

“We are truly amazed at the support The Exeter has given us over the last two years and are very grateful to everyone who helped to raise funds. Every single penny raised has gone towards our third Rainbow House, and will make a real and lasting difference to our Rainbow tenants now and well into the future. I would like to extend a personal thank you to all at The Exeter – we really admire your commitment to supporting local charities. As a small volunteer-run charity, we really do value the support of local businesses who can make such a big difference to the lives of others.”

Andy Chapman, The Exeter’s CEO, said: “It is so rewarding to work in partnership with local charities and to be able to make a positive difference to our local communities. We are thrilled at how much has been raised for Rainbow Living, and delighted to have been a part of their journey to complete their third Rainbow House. We wish the charity every continued success in the future.”
