The 2017 Ottery St Mary Food & Families Festival has been officially launched with an event at Tickety-Boo in the town centre.

Festival organisers, sponsors and friends gathered to toast the fifth annual festival, to be held on Saturday, June 3.

Each year, the town becomes a melting pot of producers, traders, chefs, young cooks, real ale fans, locals and visitors, enjoying a day of celebration of all that is good about East Devon food.

This year, the festival features cookery demonstrations from The Deer Park Hotel, The Pig at Combe, Exeter Cookery School, Tina Chauhan and Bowmers Restaurant. Up and coming talent will be showcased with Young South West Chef of the Year, Ethan Clarke from The Kings School, plus fellow students Ffion Gallantree and Skye Clarke.

Tickety-Boo is hosting a children’s fun cookery event, with story time at the library in Gold Street and other activities at the Institute. Masterclasses in puddings, knife skills and wine tasting with the Volunteer Inn, Tumbling Weir Hotel and Christopher Piper Wines are also located in the Institute.

A street market on the day allows visitors to enjoy fare from South West producers such as Bloomberry Juice Company, Eat the Smoke, Dartmoor Chilis Coldharbour Farm, Exeter Brewery, Frandie Macaron and Shaldon Bakery.

The event starts at 10am. Find out more here.
