Susan Calman: The Calman Before the Storm

It's Susan Calman's tenth year in comedy and she's back with a brand new show. Susan is taller than a borrower but shorter than the average thirteen year old child. The show? Dracula: The Bloody Truth

Exeter Cabaret Show

Beer Festival
Friday & Saturday,  Thatched House, Exwick, Exeter
The Thatched House pub in Exeter is to host its first ever real ale festival with a bumper two-day event including live music. Starting at 5pm on Friday the ‘Alepril Fool’ beer festival will then run on into Saturday  with local buskers providing entertainment on both evenings. https://www.thatchedhouse.net/

GBTQ+ and Friends Ceilidh
Saturday, Exeter Phoenix
A Ceilidh, or Barn Dance, is one of the easiest to do yet most fun activities there is. Music is provided by local group Pigs Might Fly, well known for their driving beat that means you just can’t stop dancing.  The caller, Jeremy Child, is internationally renowned and has many years experience at getting even complete beginners up and dancing and having fun. This dance is gender free, and all are welcome regardless of Gender or Sexual Orientation, either of birth or of expression. You don’t need to bring a partner, or to have been to a barn dance before.  Just come along and have the time of your life! Tickets £7 (£5 unemployed, student, under 18) on the door. 8pm-11pm.

The Spring Quilt Festival

The show features a large display of quilts from all over the world as well as Patchwork and Quilting suppliers stands. Quilting enthusiasts and personalities will be on hand to 'show you how'. Cadbury Easter Egg Hunt
From Saturday, Killerton Estate, Broadclyst, Exeter

EXHIBITIONS

Queen Victoria in Paris: Watercolours from the Royal Collection
RAMM, Queen Street, Exeter
This exhibition shows forty four watercolours of Queen Victoria’s remarkable visit to Paris in 1855. The exhibition runs until 23 April.  http://rammuseum.org.uk

Roger Mayne photography Exhibition
From Friday, THG, Elmfield House, Dowell Street, Honiton
An exhibition of rarely seen, large-scale photographs by one of Britain's most outstanding photographers Roger Mayne  (1929 – 2014) who famously documented the children and young residents of Southam Street in West London in the 1950's and 60's. These photographs lead to him becoming one of Britain's most important post-war photographers. His exhibitions have included the V&A and National Portrait Gallery, London. Commemorating the First World War: Comforts for Soldiers
RAMM, Queen Street, Exeter
Queen Mary led a drive on the home front to knit warm woollen garments, ‘comforts’ for those on active service. Surviving garments are rare, and this small display showcases objects from the museum’s collection. Patterns and advertisements are shown alongside a part knitted pair of socks, as well as examples made from the original instructions.  The exhibition runs until 17 May. http://rammuseum.org.uk
