Westpoint, Exeter welcomes back the much loved Stitching, Sewing and Hobbycrafts show, from the 25-28 September.

This popular show (previously known as Creative Stitches) has been running since 1990 and is a must visit for all avid creative and craft lovers.

Visitors are invited to share their passion for crafting with other like-minded creative people and meet the experts who are sure to spark the imagination. Discover the latest supplies from more than 180 exhibitors with the very latest products, ideas and innovations from the crafting world.

A collection of stunning costumes will be on display from the ITV hit series Mr Selfridge. Selfridges is the biggest and finest department store of its kind back in the 1900’s, and was as renowned for its wealth of luxurious fabrics and delectable accessories then as it is today.

Jane Bolsover, Creative Projects Manager for the Stitching, Sewing & Hobbycrafts Shows said: “I’m very excited to be exhibiting a selection of costumes from the second series of the TV hit Mr Selfridge. If like me you’re a costume fanatic, you’ll love these beautiful outfits, with delicately embroidered Edwardian blouses and expertly cut suits.”

Local exhibitor Adrienne Howells from Upton Pyne, Devon will be showcasing one of the show’s main feature displays.

The We Will Remember Them feature is an intricate 6ft high textile banner which has been created to help remember family members who bravely fought and passed away in World War One and to mark the centenary of this monumental event. Show visitors are invited to contribute to the banner and remember their own family members who were touched by the Great War with red silk poppies personalised with a message.  The banner will help to form a record of how the war affected Britain then and today.

The Exeter Sewing Machine Company will also be exhibiting at the Stitching, Sewing & Hobbycrafts show, the family owned company has been an exhibitor ever since the show began. Current owners David and Janet Williams have been running the successful independent store since 1996.

Janet, formerly a Theatre Arts teacher and David a Civil Engineer offer the perfect partnership. Janet loves sewing and runs many classes, she is also an expert milliner, making beautiful designer hats to order. David manages the day to day running of the business and is the resident sewing machine repair expert.

Keen hobby crafters can enjoy a variety of demonstrations and workshops on offer including the lively on-stand demos. Exhibitors will be presenting new ideas, methods, the latest papercrafting and cardmaking supplies to make stylish, personalised crafts.
