Excellent GCSE results for Exeter School

Exeter School pupils, parents and staff are celebrating another year of consistently high GCSE results.

82% of all grades were A* or A and 49.8% of grades were A*. Seventy-two candidates scored 8 or more A*/A grades with 42 registering 10 or more A*/A grades.

Laura Perring from Exeter is the daughter of an Old Exonian and the highest individual achiever with 12 A*s.

Charlie Austin, Kelsey Baxter-Sibley, Phoebe Campbell, Jessica Flanagan, Jake Kilmartin, Will Silver and Bill Taylor each attained eleven A*s.

All eight pupils achieved A* with distinction in their Further Maths qualification.

Top musician Charlie from Exeter scored 100% in his iGCSE Maths.

Rower Phoebe from North Molton represented Exeter University Boat Club in the Women's Eights Head of the River Race in February.

Bill from Exeter was selected to represent the country in the U16 England Hockey Squad.

A further thirteen pupils scored ten A*s apiece and the A* - B pass rate was 95.8%.

Twins Meredith and Zachary Marsh from Ottery St Mary scored an amazing 19 A* and 2 As between them.

Zeb Cobb from Chagford scored 10 A* and 1 A. He recently performed a solo in the school's Choral Society concert held at Exeter Cathedral.

Trombonist Will Pearce scored 10 A* and together with high scorer and trumpeter Kelsey travelled to Serbia to play with Devon Youth Jazz Orchestra at the Nišville International Jazz festival last summer.

Will also performed in the Stage by Stage production of Monty Python's Spamalot at the Northcott Theatre in June.

Headmaster Bob Griffin paid tribute to the joint efforts of pupils, parents and staff in enabling these splendid results to be achieved.
