The latest Hospiscare shop to open in the city is already proving a huge success. Indeed, the shop which opened in March and is situated in Heavitree is already very keen to recruit volunteers to help as much as possible.

“The new shop has been very well received by the public,” confirms shop manager Bonnie Gilbert. “Being the closest shop physically to the hospice itself, local people have been very keen to support us. Now we need just need volunteers to keep up with demand.

"Basically, if you are happy to help with the customer service side of things, with tills or with organising donations or anything else that needs doing, you really would be a massive help to us. It would also be great to get anyone who is very computer savvy to volunteer for us. In particular, young people shouldn’t be afraid to come in and volunteer,” Bonnie adds. “The experience will look great on your CV.”

The shop sells a range of electrical goods, homeware, clothes and second-hand books. If you want to have a chat about volunteering for Hospiscare, please call 01392 688005 or email volunteering@hospiscare.co.uk.
