Woman seriously hurt in fuel tanker crash

Police are appealing for witnesses following a collision involving a fuel tanker near Honiton.

At around 7:15am on Sunday 19th March, a serious collision took place between a blue Peugeot 206 and a 44-tonne fuel tanker on Windgate Hill, Honiton.

A third vehicle, a black Vauxhall Corsa was following directly behind the Peugeot 206 and was involved in a secondary collision.

The 18-year-old female driver of the blue Peugeot sustained serious, life changing arm injuries and was airlifted to Derriford Hospital, Plymouth, where she remains following surgery.

The male driver of the Corsa and the driver of the fuel tanker were both taken to the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital where they were treated for shock.

Police are keen to speak to anyone who saw these vehicles prior to the collision, or any drivers who may have dashcam footage that could police with their enquires.
