Leading local advice charity, Citizens Advice Exeter, is appealing for volunteers.

The advice charity, which is based in Dix’s Field, is recruiting for information guides and gateway assessors.

Information guides meet clients and visitors upon arrival at the local office and assist with self-help resources. Gateway assessors help to identify issues and help clients with the next steps.

Steve Barriball, Citizens Advice Exeter Chief Executive, said: "We are looking for volunteers who enjoy working with people and can spare between three to eight hours a week depending on the role they are interested in. This is an excellent time to join our charity; we received the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service earlier in the year, and an excellent set of quality of advice outcomes the year before."

The charity will be holding an informal open session on the 14th September when potential volunteers will have an opportunity to find out more about the charity’s work, chat with some current volunteers, find out about the training programme and meet the supervisors.

For more information about the positions on offer and to reserve a place at the open session email victoria.tate@citizensadviceexeter or call 01392 208135.
