Pret A Manger has announced it will be opening its first ever campus-based shop at the University of Exeter, with work starting on the site in the coming weeks.

The shop, located in the Forum, is expected to open towards the end of April and follows the successful opening of Pret’s first outlet in Exeter last September.

The shop will offer Pret’s popular menu of organic coffee and handmade natural food, including sandwiches, salads, wraps, baguettes and hot options – all of which will be made fresh each day in the shop’s on-site kitchen.

Caroline Cromar, Pret’s Group Director of Food and a trained nutritionist, believes that the fresh, natural menu will be of real benefit to the university’s students. She explains, “We’re thrilled to be opening our first ever university shop. This is an exciting new area for Pret and one that we hope will have a real impact on the students living and studying on campus.

“We know it can be difficult to prepare fresh and wholesome meals every day when living away from home, so we’re pleased we can be here to offer a little helping hand when required. Many of our menu items are packed full of nutrient rich ‘brain foods’ like grains, oily fish and avocados, and we’re of course never short of a cup of tea, coffee or a revitalising juice when needed. I imagine our hot food range, particularly the macaroni cheese, will be a big hit on campus too!”

Phil Attwell, Director of Campus Services at the University of Exeter, said, “We are delighted to welcome Pret's inaugural campus shop in our flagship Forum building, which is at the heart of our Streatham Campus.  The new outlet will help to further expand the offering of fresh, healthy foods available to our staff and students.”

Further information on the opening, including details of the shop’s recruitment day and local charity partners will be released shortly.
