Leading local advice charity, Citizens Advice Exeter, is delighted to announce that Anna Coltman and Gordon Richardson have joined their Board.

Anna currently works for Exeter-based South West Academic Health Science Network. Prior to this she worked at Nottingham City Council and for the Association of Directors of Economy, Environment, Planning and Transport.

Gordon lives in Exeter and works as a freelance copywriter and PR consultant. He was previously a journalist for 15 years, most recently as business editor at the Express & Echo.

Anna Coltman said: “I became a trustee because I recognise the valuable support provided by Citizens Advice Exeter and I want to ensure the charity can grow and continue to respond to the needs of local people. I know that advocacy and advice services play a hugely important role in influencing and developing policy at local and national levels. I look forward to working with all the volunteers at Citizens Advice Exeter and supporting the charity and its services.”

Gordon Richardson said: “I’m excited to be joining an independent local charity which makes a real difference to the lives of people in Exeter and campaigns to improve policy and services. Working at the Echo gave me an insight into the important role of Citizens Advice Exeter, its staff and volunteers in helping people with issues including debt, housing, benefits and employment. I’m looking forward to helping to raise awareness of this vital work and ensuring the charity continues to thrive.”

Dennis Mardon, Chairman of Citizens Advice Exeter said: “We are absolutely delighted to welcome Anna and Gordon to our Board. When we launched our recruitment campaign we were looking to further strengthen our governance and increase the skills of the Board in marketing, communications and public relations. I am delighted that these appointments meet all of these aspirations.”
