MP lends his support to Citizens Advice Exeter Energy Campaign

CITY MP Ben Bradshaw lent his weight to a series of energy advice sessions organised by Citizens Advice Exeter.

As part of their national Big Energy Saving Week, teams from the charity have been spreading the word about switching – helping some Exeter residents save more than £300 on their bills.

And more sessions will follow next week. The team of volunteers will be at Exeter Community Centre on November 15,16 and 17, between 10.30am-1.30pm and November 18 from 10.30am-12.30pm. Just take along a recent bill and they will help you see if you can save money by switching tariff or provider.

Steve Barriball, Chief Executive of Citizens Advice Exeter, said: ‘Statistics show that people stay with their suppliers for many reasons and quite often could save considerable sums of money by switching tariff or provider. It is important to us as an organisation that we get the right advice out to local people and help them save money - sometimes hundreds of pounds.

‘We were delighted to receive the support of MP Ben Bradshaw at our recent event in the library.’

MP Ben Bradshaw said: ‘I was delighted to join Citizens Advice in Exeter to promote Big Energy Saving Week and to support consumers to Check Switch and Save, focusing on raising awareness of the benefits of switching energy supplier or tariffs to get the best deal.'

If you are a resident of Exeter or the surrounding area you qualify to receive the free advice, simply take a recent energy bill and an adviser will help you identify if a cheaper provider or tariff is available and support you through the switching process.
