BAFTA nomination for Exeter Cathedral film

A short film telling the story of Exeter Cathedral has been nominated for a BAFTA Children’s Award.

“An Introduction to Exeter Cathedral” was announced as a nominee by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) yesterday, ahead of the awards ceremony which takes place in November. The film has been nominated in the primary learning category, and although it is intended and much loved by visiting school groups it has since proved to be so popular that it is now routinely shown inside the Cathedral for visitors of all ages.

The piece was commissioned by the Cathedral’s education department as part of a project supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund and brought to life by production company NRG Digital. It introduces the Cathedral and takes the viewers on a inspiring and fascinating journey through its history, from its foundation in the 11th century to  the present day, in just under 10 minutes.

Commenting on the announcement, Robert Edmonds (Managing Director at NRG Digital), said:
