Appeal after boy punched and threatened with knife in Exeter

Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious assault on a 17-year-old boy on Flower Pot Lane, Exeter.

The assault happened on Thursday 22 September 2016 between 6 and 630pm.

The male offender allegedly punched the 17-year-old victim several times and then threatened him with a knife which he was wielding at the time.

Police Constable Matt Beards said: “There were approximately 30 people present watching the altercation.

“A member of the public intervened when the boy was being assaulted, which has potentially prevented a more serious assault.

“I am seeking these witnesses to make contact. I am especially keen to speak with the man who intervened in order to pass the gratitude of the victim he assisted.”

The suspect is described as white, around 18-years-old, 6ft tall, of a slim build with short black hair.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the attack and for any information to help the investigation.
