Exeter’s Queen St. Dining will introduce a taste of Scandinavia to the region when KuPP opens its doors on 29th October.

Inspired by cuisine from Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden, KuPP is the seventh restaurant to launch in the city’s new £12m dining destination. It will join Turtle Bay, Gourmet Burger Kitchen (GBK), The Stable, Absurd Bird, The Terrace and Comptoir Libanais.

Exeter is Kupp’s first branch outside of London and will open opposite Absurd Bird at Queen St. Dining.

The idea for KuPP began after its founder, Steve Cox, first visited Stockholm 10 years ago.  Extensive travels to the Nordic region and a genuine passion for this part of the world and its food and dining out culture, inspired the launch of this casual all day dining concept.

KuPP combines café culture with the Scandi love of Fika and its menu consists of notable Scandi ingredients, used in a British way, and is designed to cultivate a casual style of dining, grazing, drinking and socialising.

By signing up to the KuPP mailing list or dining with KuPP in the first two weeks of opening, diners can receive £5 in KuPP Kash which can be redeemed when spending a minimum of £10. This offer is valid from Saturday 29th October to Sunday 13th November.

Steve Cox, owner of KuPP, says “We are really excited about bringing KuPP to Exeter and being part of Queen St. Dining. We considered many locations for our first venue outside the capital and we feel the city and the location are exactly the right choice.

Due to living here when I was involved in commercial diving and my family’s connections to the old butcher’s shop on Cathedral Square, owned by my uncle, I felt a real affinity with the area and Exeter just seemed like a natural choice for our second site.

We pride ourselves on our ability to gather and select the finest ingredients and products from both British & Scandinavian suppliers. KuPP represents all that we love about coffee, food, drink and Scandinavia and we want to share this with our customers.”

Queen St. Dining features an eclectic mix of exciting brands, the majority of which are new to the South West. The £12m dining destination will also introduce welcoming open air spaces designed especially for food events, markets and entertainment.

Andrew McNeilly, Manager of Guildhall Shopping & Dining, says “I’m delighted to announce that the seventh restaurant to open at Queen St. Dining is KuPP. This Scandinavian restaurant will be a great addition to Exeter’s dining scene. There’s nowhere else like it in the region so it’s unique menu will give diners an opportunity to try something a bit different. I am sure that KuPP will be very well received by visitors to Queen St. Dining.”

Andrew continues “Following the opening of the other six restaurants, we have already had a great response from diners all eager to visit Queen St. Dining. We’ve noticed the excitement for each restaurant building on social media and we look forward to seeing the response that KuPP will receive.”
