Donate and Do Good Day a great success!

The Pavey Group’s ‘Donate & Do Good Day’ for Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) was a resounding success.

The day was held in Exeter on Tuesday 25 October and the idea was, as many busy professionals don’t have time to take their unwanted items to charity shops, the team from Pavey Group would visit the businesses to pick up collections instead!

Whilst members of the team spent the morning collecting charity shop donations from businesses all the area, the rest of the team worked as volunteers at CHSW’s Sidwell Street shop in Exeter helping to sort through the collections and help out with general shop duties.

Cheryl Phillips, sales and marketing manager at Pavey Group said: "Whilst raising vital funds for CHSW has been our priority, our charity committee aware also keen to spend a day volunteering, which has been supported by the business.

"When we heard our local CHSW shop was running low on stock we wanted to help by using our business connections to generate clothing donations.

"Commercial client Thrifty Van and Car Hire have been incredibly supportive by donating a day’s van hire enabling us to travel between our offices in Torquay, Exeter and Holsworthy to collect the amazing donations gathered by local firms.  

"Back in the shop our team of five volunteers will be helping to sort the new stock and generally providing help to the store manager and her team."

CHSW is the Charity of the Year for Pavey Group and this is just one of a series of ways in which the company is supporting the charity including sponsorship of the charity’s Santas on the Run event in Holsworthy in December.
