Exeter Deaf Academy, Princesshay's charity of the year, launched its charity raffle of a Mercedes Benz A-Class in April and now the countdown has started to announce the winner of the amazing prize, a £22,000 A-Class, courtesy of Mercedes-Benz of Exeter to raise money for the Exeter Deaf Academy.

To date, volunteers have sold over 4,000 raffle tickets from the stand in Princesshay and with the busy shopping period beginning, it is hoped that this figure will double before the winning ticket is drawn on the 24th December.

Tickets can be purchased from the Princesshay, with the winning raffle ticket being drawn in Princesshay at 12 noon on Christmas Eve.

Wayne Pearce, Princesshay Centre Director said: "We are delighted to be able to host the charity raffle on behalf of Exeter Deaf Academy. It's is a brilliant local charity and it has been a real pleasure to be working with such a great team throughout 2016."

Helen Trebble, Marketing Manager at Exeter Deaf Academy said: 'The Princesshay Charity of the Year and Mercedes-Benz partnership has been a wonderful opportunity for Exeter Deaf Academy. As a charity, we are not funded in the same way as state schools so rely on fundraising.

This prominent car raffle has been a significant platform for us to increase awareness in our community whilst raising much needed funds to support our work. We have a proud 190 year history in the city of supporting Deaf students who join us from all over the UK. This is largely thanks to the generosity of the people of Exeter who continue to support our cause. Thousands have bought raffle tickets for the chance to win the Mercedes Benz A-Class on Christmas Eve. We are also asking for the gift of time this Christmas, and need local volunteers to give 3 hours in the run up to the raffle draw to help us sell even more tickets!'
