Amos Lighting has swelled its ranks with the appointment of two new lighting sales consultants.

William Dicker and Jay Gater have joined the team at Exeter’s leading independent lighting specialist, bringing their own particular brands of expertise with them.

William, who grew up in Wales, previously worked at Sofa Workshop in Exeter’s Paris Street and has a wealth of sales experience. He said:

“I really enjoy working for a smaller company, which Sofa Workshop was for many years. Amos Lighting, of course, has the added benefit of being a family business.

“As well as beautiful lights, Amos stocks an eclectic range of furniture, including Conran, Porada and Cattelan Italia. And, as I learn more about lighting, I’m looking forward to bringing my experience and knowledge of furniture to the business; often customers looking at changing their lighting will be considering new furniture, too.”

William says he appreciates working with the experienced team at the Marsh Barton showroom. “I feel like I’m in safe hands. This seems an opportune time to join Amos, as the business is soon to expand with a second showroom opening in Topsham.”

He is joined by Jay Gater who, prior to Amos, was a key member of staff at Exeter’s popular Mansons Guitars in McCoys Arcade, looking after the website and e-commerce.

Jay commented: “I was attracted to Amos Lighting because of the opportunity to grow face to face service with customers. I’m also looking forward to developing the company’s digital presence and creating an engaging and exciting experience for customers.

“I have always been fascinated by the way lights can alter someone’s mood, depending on the ambience they give. I am drawn to design and love how beautiful things are made - my own wedding ring was bespoke made in Cornwall, and I believe great design is essential.”

Both Exeter residents, the two new members of the Amos team have supplementary strings to their bows; William is a travel buff, having travelled the world visiting countries including China, Macau, New Zealand, Hawaii and the States whilst Jay plays in local party and function band, Taylor and the Made Gentleman.

Managing Director, David Amos said: “We’re delighted to welcome our new dynamic duo on board. William and Jay are set to become key members of our sales team and both are already showing an enthusiasm that’s hard to beat.”
