Members of the Exeter & Heart of Devon Hotels & Restaurants Association raised over £1,000 for three chosen charities at this year’s annual dinner. The three chosen charities were, Cancer Research UK, Hospitality Action and Equine Protection South West.

This year’s annual dinner was held at the Deer Park Country House Hotel where guests were treated to a sparkling wine reception followed by a sumptuous 5 course feast.

Mark Godfrey, MD at the Deer Park Country House Hotel was delighted to host the event saying, “There are so many exciting things happening at the Deer Park at the moment that it was great to invite association members to the hotel and really show off what we have to offer.”

Derek Phillips, Hon Secretary of Devon Hotels said: “We are so pleased with the amount raised for these deserving three charities. We are also very grateful to our members for raising such an amazing sum and for the prizes they donated. The association has just celebrated a very successful winter season, with members reporting an excellent trading result.”

One of the charities that will be taking a donation from the association is Hospitality Action.

Hospitality Action was established in 1837 and offers vital assistance to all who work or have worked within the hospitality industry in the UK.  They support people who have suffered life altering illness or who might be experiencing poverty, bereavement and domestic violence.

Devon Hotels, also known as the Exeter and Heart of Devon Hotels and Restaurants Association, is an Association of more than 40 of the finest hotels and restaurants in Devon.  The Association dates back to the 1930’s and has a long history of helping to look after the interests of local hotels and promoting the region as a tourist destination.
