Celebrating Scholarly Success: BCR Associates Sponsors NDMA Awards Ceremony

On Thursday 19th May, the North Devon Manufacturers Association (NDMA) hosted the 19th annual awards ceremony to recognise the achievements of local manufacturers as well as the next generation of engineers & designers from North Devon's education establishments.

The NDMA was set up to represent the interests of manufacturing and support it’s service industries. The Association organises a whole host of meetings, lectures, networking events plus manufacturing site visits to promote the development of member businesses to ensure that they achieve their full potential. Business cost and risk management consultants, BCR Associates, sponsored the ‘Schools Technology Award’ for the second year in a row.

The award was split into two categories: 13 to 16 and 16 to 19 years old.

Chairman of BCR Associates, Richard Dormer, was on hand to present prizes to the winners; 13 to 16: Shantelle Hill, Pilton Community College 16 to 19: Alex Cammack, West Buckland School The talented students won a trophy plus a cheque for £100, both donated by BCR Associates.

Richard said “I am very proud to be involved with the NDMA Awards and to have the opportunity to reward these young students for their hard work. I wish them all the best in their future studies and careers in engineering and design. Having recently hired an apprentice myself, I understand how valuable it can be to harness young talent, incorporating fresh ideas that will facilitate future business growth.” BCR Associates and the NDMA will continue to work closely together over the course of the next year to help nurture young talent.
